The case was initiated on a complaint by a software professional from Mancherial, who alleged that he was cheated after interacting with a profile under the name of Nanditha Reddy on Bharat Matrimony. The victim stated that between January and May 2025 he was induced to invest in a fraudulent cryptocurrency platform, eventually losing ₹87.58 lakh, including amounts transferred in both USDT and Indian rupees.

Investigation and Recovery

During investigation, TGCSB traced the crypto trail to a Chinese national, Jiang Chuanxuan, who had registered a wallet with the OKX exchange. Following legal proceedings, the platform was directed by court order to refund 2703 USDT. The amount has since been transferred to TGCSB’s official wallet and will be credited to the victim’s account after court approval.

Officials noted that the tracing and recovery of assets from a foreign national’s crypto wallet through an international exchange is a rare achievement. The Director of TGCSB commended the investigation team led by J. Krishnamurthy, the crypto cyber investigator, and DSP D.V. Rangareddy.

The bureau cautioned the public against transferring crypto assets without proper verification and advised due diligence before trusting individuals contacted through matrimonial websites.
