With this recognition, Telugupost joins a select group of independent organisations that adhere to high standards of transparency, accuracy, and non-partisanship.

National framework for independent fact-checkers

The Fact Checking Network of India was set up to build a credible ecosystem of professional fact-checkers across the country. Supported by the Misinformation Combat Alliance (MCA), the initiative aims to enhance collaboration and standardisation in India’s fact-checking landscape.

Members are required to demonstrate editorial independence, sound methodology, reliable sourcing, and effective corrections policies and their best practices. The network includes several prominent fact-checking organisations such as Boom FactCheck, Factly, Newschecker, The Quint, and Vishvas News.

The Trusted Information Alliance (TIA), which drives the FCN, works with media houses, technology platforms, and civil society to promote accountability and factual integrity in public communication.

Telugupost’s growing credibility

Telugupost Fact-Check, a division of Truth Serum Media, has built a strong presence in South India through its multilingual outreach—publishing fact-checks in seven languages including Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Urdu, Odia, and English.

The platform is known for its proactive verification efforts on issues like climate change misinformation, digital hygiene, cybercrime, and scam prevention.

Telugupost is also a signatory of the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN), the global body that sets standards for transparency and editorial independence. The dual endorsement from IFCN and FCN places it among a smattering Indian organisations recognised at both global and national levels for adherence to rigorous ethical and operational standards.

Commitment to accuracy and transparency

Telugupost maintains a robust corrections policy with prompt updates to ensure accuracy. Every article undergoes peer review, and all corrections are archived both within the story and on a dedicated page. The organisation moderates reader comments to prevent hate speech and safeguard the privacy of victims and vulnerable individuals.

“Telugupost is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards in verification and editorial neutrality,” said Satya Priya BN, Editor–Fact Check. “Every fact-check is guided by integrity, independence, and transparency. As an FCN signatory, we renew our promise to serve as a pillar of trustworthy information for the public.”

With FCN verification, Telugupost Fact-Check is now Set to accomplish even more credible, transparent, and impactful journalism, reinforcing the fight against misinformation in India’s digital ecosystem.
