Tollywood Bandh: Film Industry employees announce strike
Hyderabad: The Telugu Film Industry Employees Federation has mandated a 30% wage increase for all workers, lest, the federation would go on strike effective from Monday. The move comes after a crucial General Assembly meeting attended by representatives of 24 trade unions.
The main demands of the federation include a 30 percent wage increase effective immediately. The hike is to be applied from August 4, 2025.A complete work stoppage was ordered until compliance is verified, affecting all Telugu productions including multilingual projects.Federation stated that after producers submit a confirmation letter only the employees by informing the same to their respective unions and attend the work.
Till then the Federation announced that no member shall participate in film shoots, web series, or shooting without prior Federation approval.The rule applies to all Telugu film productions, including those made in other languages.
The Federation has warned that violations will not be tolerated, signaling a zero-tolerance approach to unauthorized work engagements.Telugu Film Industry Employees’ Federation Syed Humayun and Veerashankar were appointed as chairman of the Coordination Committee to oversee wage hike implementation.
