Frame the state: Telangana Tourism Department opens photo & video challenge
Hyderabad: Telangana Tourism Development Corporation (TGTDC) has launched a state-level photo and video contest aimed at promoting Telangana’s culture, natural beauty, and tourist attractions. The contest is open from July 4 to July 27, 2025, and welcomes entries from both amateur and professional photographers and videographers.
The competition invites participants to explore six themes: Nature, Wildlife, Culture, Heritage, Food, and Adventure. Entries must be original, taken within Telangana, and reflect the essence of the chosen theme. AI-generated visuals, stock images, or heavily altered content are not permitted. However, basic post-processing such as light and color correction is allowed.
In the photography category, the first prize winner will receive ₹5,000, the second prize ₹3,000, and the third prize ₹2,000. For videos (maximum two minutes in length), the first prize is ₹10,000, followed by ₹5,000 and ₹3,000 for second and third place respectively. Each participant can submit up to four photographs and two videos per theme.
Entries must be uploaded to Google Drive, and the shareable link should be emailed to photo@tgtdc.in with access permissions enabled. The email must include the participant’s name, contact number, email address, full postal address, entry category, selected theme, and location and date of capture. All files must be submitted in Full HD or higher resolution and follow a specific file-naming format.
The judging panel will consist of professionals from the fields of photography, tourism, and representatives from Telangana Tourism. Entries will be assessed anonymously based on visual impact, creativity, technical quality, and relevance to the theme. Participants may be asked to provide original RAW files or unedited video clips for verification.
The contest is open to all Indian citizens, except employees of TGTDC, their immediate families, or those involved in organizing or judging the event. Participants under 18 years of age must submit a signed consent letter from a parent or legal guardian. No entry fee is required.
Participants retain the copyright to their submissions but grant TGTDC a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use the content for promotional purposes. Selected entries may be showcased in exhibitions, publications, or official Telangana Tourism campaigns. Winners will be notified via email within seven days of the contest’s conclusion.
