A day earlier, on May 8, the state government organised a solidarity rally in Hyderabad to back the armed forces. The rally began at Dr B.R. Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat and concluded at the Necklace Road rotary.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy led the march, joined by state ministers, retired military personnel, members of police organisations, and around 1,500 government employees. Participants walked to the tune of Aye Mere Watan Ke Logon, expressing support for the Army.

Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy condemned terrorism and said the country would respond firmly to attacks. He urged citizens of Hyderabad to come together to show their support for the armed forces.

According to the Ministry of Defence, the Indian Armed Forces launched Operation Sindoor, targeting terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Nine sites linked to terrorist activity were hit in precision strikes. The Ministry stated that the action was focused, measured, and avoided escalation, with no Pakistani military installations targeted.

The operation was launched in response to the recent Pahalgam terrorist attack, in which 25 Indian citizens and one Nepali national were killed. The government reaffirmed its resolve to hold those responsible accountable.
