Telangana students relocated from border areas arrive at Telangana Bhavan in Delhi

Hyderabad: Amid rising tensions along the India-Pakistan border and the northern borders, students from Telangana who were studying at Lovely Professional University in Jalandhar and in Jammu and Kashmir have safely arrived at Telangana Bhavan in Delhi early this morning, May 10, 2025.

Telangana Bhavan has arranged accommodation, food, and transportation for these students. Resident Commissioner Dr. Gaurav Uppal met with the students, gathered details, and ensured their safety.

So far, eight individuals from Jammu & Kashmir have arrived, with more expected. Around 30 distress calls have been received, and the Telangana Government is offering free lodging and meals to those arriving from the border states. Additional accommodation is being arranged as necessary.

The Telangana Government has taken swift action in response to the ongoing India-Pakistan border tensions. Under the guidance of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Telangana Bhavan, Delhi, has been designated as the central coordination point for relief efforts. A control room has been set up at the Bhavan to assist Telangana residents in the affected regions, providing vital information and support.

The control room, which operates 24/7, has been receiving calls from residents stranded in border states. For assistance, residents can contact the following:

A medical camp has been set up at Telangana Bhavan to provide immediate health check-ups and basic care to those arriving. Transport assistance is also being offered to airports and railway stations to help individuals continue their journey home.

The Telangana Government is in close coordination with local authorities in the affected border areas to ensure the safe relocation of citizens when necessary. It is also working closely with the Government of India for updates and instructions regarding safety measures on the ground.

As of now, arrangements are being made for the return of the students to their hometowns in Telangana. The Resident Commissioner conducted a late-night review of relief measures to ensure that all necessary support is provided to those in need. The situation continues to be monitored closely, and further assistance will be provided as required.
