126 Telangana residents reach Delhi amid India-Pakistan border tensions
Hyderabad: Amid ongoing tensions along the India-Pakistan border, 126 residents from Telangana have reached Telangana Bhawan in New Delhi on May 11, 2025. Of these, 91 arrived since midnight on May 11. The group includes 50 students from NIT Srinagar, students and faculty from Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences, employees working in Jammu & Kashmir, students from Lovely Professional University (LPU) in Punjab, and others residing or studying in the affected border areas.
Under the direction of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, the Telangana Government has activated Telangana Bhawan as the nodal centre for relief and coordination. Of the 126 people received so far, 57 have already departed for their hometowns after being provided with necessary assistance. The remaining individuals are currently being housed at the Bhawan, where they are receiving food, medical care, and onward travel support.
Free accommodation, meals, and health check-ups are being offered, with transportation arranged for those heading to railway stations and airports. Coordination with district administrations and central authorities is ongoing to ensure the safe movement of returnees.
Resident Commissioner Dr. Gaurav Uppal is overseeing operations on the ground. He inspected the facilities and confirmed that arrangements are in place for more arrivals expected by tomorrow.
