Telangana RERA to launch kiosks and QR code system
HYDERABAD: Telangana Real Estate Regulatory Authority (TG RERA) is set to strengthen its use of technology to improve transparency and speed of services for homebuyers and investors.
Officials said TG RERA will soon set up a kiosk at its office, which will function like a mini-bank outlet. Buyers can access all essential services through the kiosk without visiting the RERA office directly. "This will make Telangana the first and only state in the country to introduce RERA kiosks," a TG RERA official said.
Alongside, TG RERA is preparing to launch a mobile application by April. Development of the app has reached its final stage, according to officials.
QR code system for project details
TG RERA has also decided to introduce quick response (QR) code technology. Each registered project will carry a QR code displaying details of the developer, promoter, number of apartments, and approvals. Developers must display the QR code at project sites and in advertisements.
By scanning the code, buyers can instantly access verified project information. Maharashtra had introduced a similar system in August 2023 through MahaRERA.
Registrations and complaints so far
Since its launch in July 2017, TG RERA has registered 10,043 projects and 4,463 real estate agents. The authority has received 2,340 complaints, of which 1,566 have been resolved.
TG RERA has also listed seven promoters and agents as defaulters: Sahiti Infratec Ventures, Jayatri Infrastructure, YVR Constructions, Satyanarayana Moola, Sri Ameya Constructions, and Srinivas Kakarl.
Under RERA rules, all housing and commercial projects covering more than 500 square metres or with over eight apartments must be registered with the authority.
