Hyderabad: Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected across several districts of Telangana later today, June 19, 2025, according to the latest forecast issued by Telangana Weatherman, Balaji, on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

In a post earlier today, Balaji said that rainfall activity will increase after a three-day break due to the strengthening of a low-pressure area (LPA) over Central India. “Winds will be strong, ranging from 40–50 kmph,” he noted.

Rainfall Forecast for Today

Districts in North and East Telangana, including Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Peddapalli, Mancherial, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, and Bhadradri Kothagudem, can expect moderate to heavy rainfall from late afternoon through midnight, mainly during nighttime hours.

Vikarabad and Sangareddy districts are likely to receive moderate rainfall, while other districts may see only isolated showers. In Hyderabad, a spell of light to moderate rain is expected during the evening or night. “Today looks better than the last two days,” Balaji added.

Monsoon Outlook: June 15–30

Reflecting on the broader monsoon pattern, Balaji shared his forecast for the second half of June. While the monsoon was weak from June 1–10, it showed signs of strengthening from June 11. However, he clarified that no widespread heavy rainfall is expected in the coming days.

“Normal rainfall is likely for the rest of June, though some districts, particularly in eastern and central Telangana like Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri, Jangaon, and Siddipet, may end the month with below-average rainfall,” he wrote.

In Hyderabad, eastern and northern parts of the city may receive below-normal rainfall, while western, central, and southern zones are expected to receive near-normal rainfall through the end of the month.

Advice for Farmers

Balaji advised farmers not to worry about the current lull in rainfall. “June is just the beginning. The core monsoon months are July to September. Plan agricultural activities accordingly,” he said.

He encouraged the farming community to stay informed and make the best of current weather conditions while preparing for the peak monsoon period ahead.
