Telangana’s Prajavani resolves 27,215 grievances in a year
Hyderabad: In the last one year, 82,955 petitions were received during the Prajavani Program, resolving 27,215 grievances with a 62% resolution rate as per the latest data released by the Telangana government.
The Prajavani Program aims to redefine citizen engagement and public governance in the state. Citizens can submit petitions at the Mahatma Jyothiba Phule Praja Bhavan every Tuesday and Friday, fostering direct interaction with the Administration. In the last year, 84 Prajavani sessions were conducted.
Some grievances resolved during the Prajavani Sessions include B.T.V. Chidvilas Raju from Moosarambagh, who requested a fee reimbursement scholarship for his son, a trans man whose documents had discrepancies due to his gender transition. With Prajavani’s intervention, the issue was resolved, and the scholarship was sanctioned, providing financial relief.
Success stories highlight Prajavani’s impact
Nuguru Rahul Raj, a 32-year-old from Gowliguda, went to Dubai in search of employment. On October 19, he contacted his parents, Kumudini and Gautham, informing them that his bag and money had been stolen. However, his phone was switched off shortly after, and he went missing. His parents submitted a petition to Pravasi Prajavani, requesting assistance in locating their son. With the government’s efforts, he was traced and returned to India.
In another case, a Dalit, Ashok, faced delays due to a technical issue after the SC Corporation sanctioned a loan for an electrical auto. Prajavani intervened by communicating with the concerned officers and ensuring the timely release of the vehicle, helping Ashok start his new business and improve his livelihood.
The Prajavani Program, launched on December 8, 2023, by Telangana’s Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy garu at the Mahatma Jyothiba Phule Praja Bhavan in Begumpet, Hyderabad, acts as a vital bridge between the government and citizens, offering a platform for addressing public grievances.
