According to the reports, the two men had paid Rs. 2 lakh each to a recruitment agent, Sammeta Raju, a native of Athmakur Mandal, Metpally, and Jagtial. The agent facilitated their travel to Thailand, where they were received at Bangkok airport by an Indian national named Munna.

After arriving in Bangkok on November 11, the men last spoke with their families on November 21, 2024, but have since gone missing.

The wives of the missing men, Jala (Aravind’s wife) and Kasamma (Sagar’s wife) filed a complaint with Pravasi Prajavani in Hyderabad on Tuesday. They expressed concern over their husbands’ sudden disappearance and appealed to the Indian authorities for help. They have also urged the Indian Embassy in Bangkok to coordinate efforts to trace their whereabouts.

The wives have called on Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to intervene in the matter and to ensure a police case is registered against the recruitment agent.
