Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. The instructions came during a review meeting with the Health Department held at the Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) in Hyderabad.

The Committee is tasked with assessing infrastructure, identifying funding needs, reporting on pending works, and recommending government support for timely completion.

The Chief Minister reviewed concerns raised by the National Medical Council (NMC) regarding medical colleges in the state. He directed officials to prepare a comprehensive report covering recruitment, staff promotions, increase in hospital beds, medical equipment needs, and filling of vacancies in government medical colleges.

Assuring immediate release of required funds, Revanth Reddy asked officials to promptly bring to the state government’s attention any delays related to permissions or support from the Union Ministry of Health. He also stated that the government would take up these issues directly with Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda.

In view of rising demand for nursing professionals in Japan, the Chief Minister announced that Japanese will be introduced as an optional subject in nursing colleges. The Japanese government has agreed to support the state in providing training arrangements.

Revanth Reddy also proposed exploring the use of a digital app to track hospital operations, including patient care, doctor services, and hospital timings.

Highlighting regular oversight, the Chief Minister instructed Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao to conduct a monthly review of both the Medical and Health and Education departments, starting from the third week of each month.

The meeting was attended by Health Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha, Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao, Principal Secretary to CM V. Seshadri, Secretary Manicka Raj, Health Secretary Christina Z Chongthu, Director of Health Dr. Narendra Kumar, and other senior officials.
