Telangana man jailed in Dubai after bank account misuse, travel ban; Family seeks CM’s help
Hyderabad: A 27-year-old youth from Telangana’s Jagtial district has been imprisoned in Ajman, UAE, after a court imposed a travel ban on him due to alleged misuse of his bank account by unknown individuals.
Mallarapu Madhukar, a resident of Yellapur village in Pegadapalli mandal, was reportedly detained after financial transactions were carried out using his bank account without his knowledge. Authorities in Ajman linked these transactions to potential financial misconduct, leading to his arrest.
On Tuesday, May 13, 2025, Madhukar's parents, Mallavva and Anjayya, submitted a petition to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy during the ‘Pravasi Prajavani’ program at Praja Bhavan in Begumpet. They requested the government’s intervention for their son’s release and repatriation.
The couple reached Praja Bhavan with assistance from NRI Advisory Committee Vice Chairman Mandha Bheem Reddy and support from Dharmapuri MLA and Government Whip Adluri Laxman Kumar. G. Chinna Reddy, Vice Chairman of the Planning Commission and in charge of the Pravasi Prajavani program, assured them that the matter would be taken up through the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).
The family appealed for immediate consular assistance, legal aid, and efforts to establish Madhukar’s non-involvement in the case. They requested the Telangana government to coordinate with the Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian Embassy in Dubai to ensure legal representation and facilitate his return to India.
A copy of the petition was also forwarded to the Telangana State Legal Services Authority for further support.
