Rajeshwari topped the 2009 IPS batch. She is the first female IPS officer from Munnar, Kerala. Also, she has started several community programmes. She has built a distinguished career over a decade, marked by operational rigour and community-focused initiatives. She began her service as an Assault Commander with the 'Greyhounds', an elite special force tasked with high-risk operations against left-wing extremists. Her work in conflict zones involved tackling extremism, women and child trafficking networks, and other serious crimes. She is currently the DIG of the Women Safety Wing, Telangana.

She passed the UPSC exam in 2009. She topped the IPS batch and got assigned to the Andhra Pradesh cadre. After the state bifurcation in 2014, she moved to Telangana. As Superintendent of Police in Mahabubnagar, Nalgonda, and other districts in Telangana, Rajeshwari confronted severe agrarian distress, farmer suicides, COVID-19, and large-scale outbound migration.

The letter from the Ministry of Home Affairs formally conveys the approval for Rajeshwari’s deputation to the central agency. The appointment is against an existing vacancy and is subject to standard central deputation terms and conditions. The communication specifically requests that the Telangana government relieve Rajeshwari immediately to allow her to begin her new assignment.
