Telangana: Hearing on BC reservations at 12.30 pm today
HYDERABAD: The Telangana High Court on Wednesday postponed the hearing on the issue of Backward Class (BC) reservations to the afternoon. The case will be taken up before the bench headed by the Chief Justice.
Chief Justice seeks update on current status
As the court convened in the morning, the Chief Justice inquired about the present status of the reservations. Officials informed the bench that the government had issued a Government Order increasing BC reservations to 42%.
Six petitions to be heard together
Advocates told the court that six petitions on the matter had been filed and that the election schedule had already been released. The bench also sought details about developments in the Supreme Court, including references to aspects that were dismissed there.
After hearing the submissions, the Chief Justice’s bench adjourned the proceedings to 12.30 pm for further hearing.
