Heavy rains expected in Telangana due to upper air circulation, says Telangana Weatherman
Hyderabad: The Telangana Weatherman has issued a weather advisory warning of heavy rainfall across several parts of the state due to an Upper Air Circulation (UAC). Taking to ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), (@balaji25-t) he said that powerful storms and intense rains are expected in central, western, and southern Telangana from the afternoon through the night.
He noted that Hyderabad, much like the previous day, is also likely to experience scattered intense storms during the same period. According to him, it has been a day of widespread rains across southwest Telangana, with all districts receiving significant showers. Overnight, Hanamkonda and Warangal witnessed thunderstorms, while Hyderabad had scattered rainfall in various areas.

Among the rainfall figures reported, Makthal mandal in Narayanpet district received 81.3 mm of rain. Leeja mandal in Jogulamba Gadwal district recorded 60.5 mm, while Pangal mandal in Wanaparthy district received 15.5 mm.
In addition to the immediate weather update, he also shared his extended monsoon forecast. According to his analysis, the monsoon is expected to arrive in Kerala around May 24, with Telangana likely to see its onset by May 27. He attributed the early monsoon push to twin weather systems developing in the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea, which are expected to drive monsoon winds into the state.

He also predicted a break in the monsoon roughly six days after its onset, likely during the first or second week of June. This would temporarily reduce rainfall across Telangana. However, he added that the weather will remain comfortable, with no significant rise in temperatures during this phase.
The Telangana Weatherman concluded his update by clarifying that the monsoon onset dates are based on his own analysis and criteria, and may not match those issued officially by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). He advised that for official forecasts, people should follow IMD updates.
