For May 29, an orange alert has been issued for Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, and Khammam districts, with forecasts of heavy to very heavy rainfall. A yellow alert is in place for Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, and Warangal districts. Gusty winds are again likely across the state.

Hyderabad Weather Update:
The Telangana Weatherman said heavy downpours are expected today in western, central, and southern parts of Telangana between late afternoon and midnight. Areas in the north and east, which received intense rain yesterday, are likely to see only light to moderate showers today.

Hyderabad is expected to experience moderate spells with isolated heavy showers by evening and into the night. Rainfall is expected to be slightly lower than yesterday.

Rainfall recorded across Telangana on May 27 showed significant variation, with Palakurthy in Jangaon district receiving the highest at 136.5 mm. This was followed by Gundala in Bhadradri Kothagudem, which recorded 121.5 mm. Dundigal Gandimaisamma in Medchal-Malkajgiri registered 68.0 mm, while Dummugudem in Bhadradri Kothagudem saw 67.5 mm of rainfall.

According to the Telangana Weatherman, farmer associations have reported that the land is now holding more than sufficient moisture for agricultural needs. This level of saturation in late May is considered unusual. Any further intense rainfall, he warned, may lead to local flooding.

A break in the monsoon is expected between June 1 and 7, allowing the land to absorb excess water. Rainfall is forecast to return after June 9. The current spell has been described as a strong onset of the monsoon, with heavy rain recorded across several regions. "This is a dream onset spell for Telangana," the Telangana Weatherman said.
