Telangana Government approves Rs. 430 crore for iconic bridge across Mir Alam Tank
Hyderabad: The Telangana government has granted administrative sanction for the construction of an iconic bridge across Mir Alam Tank. This bridge will connect the Bengaluru National Highway at Shastripuram to Chintalmet Road and will be developed under the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) mode. The total sanctioned amount for the project is Rs. 430 crore. The approval, issued on July 24, 2025, replaces the earlier administrative sanction granted in March 2024.
In addition to the approval for the bridge construction, the government has also given permissions for several key aspects of the project. The expenditure of Rs. 430 crore will be allocated from the Musi Riverfront Development Corporation Limited (MRDCL) account.
The government has allowed the tendering process to proceed, even as land acquisition for the project remains pending. The land acquisition will be carried out simultaneously with the construction work.
Furthermore, the government has authorized the engagement of a Project Management Consultancy (PMC) agency to oversee supervision, quality control, and audit during the execution of the project. The designs and drawings submitted by the EPC agency will be vetted by reputed technical institutes such as IIT Hyderabad, NIT Warangal, or JNTU Hyderabad, with the approval of the PMC agency.
The Managing Director of MRDCL has been directed to take the necessary steps for the project’s implementation, ensuring compliance with all applicable rules and procedures. This order was issued with the concurrence of the Finance (DCM) Department.
