Telangana Government presents Rs. 3.04 lakh crore budget for 2025-26

Hyderabad: The Telangana Government has unveiled a ₹3,04,965 crore budget for the financial year 2025-26, marking the first time the state's budget has crossed the ₹3 lakh crore mark since its formation. The budget includes ₹2,26,982 crore for revenue expenditure and ₹36,504 crore for capital expenditure.

Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu presented the Congress government's second full-term budget for the fiscal year 2025-26 on Wednesday, March 19, 2025. The Finance Minister handed over the budget documents to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy Anumula at the state Assembly. Several ministers, including Konda Surekha and Sridhar Babu, were also present.

Before heading to the Assembly to present the budget, Bhatti Vikramarka offered prayers at a temple within Praja Bhavan, holding the budget documents.

In his address at the Assembly, Bhatti Vikramarka highlighted the state's journey toward progress despite facing numerous challenges over the past decade. He stated, "Our goal is to build a Telangana marked by prosperity, inclusivity, and sustainable growth."

He highlighted that the budget is not just about financial allocations, but a roadmap for equitable development, economic stability, and social justice. "The success of these initiatives will depend on the cooperation and support of everyone," he added. "This budget is designed for the equitable distribution of resources to all segments of society, aiming to create a system free from inequalities."
