Pragati was married to Rohit Reddy, a native of Siddipet, and subsequently moved to the United States and was living with her in-laws in Florida. Pragati was the second daughter of former BRS MPTC Mohan Reddy.

The Telugu family was on a long drive on Sunday evening. Rohit Reddy was behind the wheel at the time of the accident. The car overturned after he lost his control which resulted in the immediate deaths of Sunitha and her daughter-in-law Pragati while Rohit and their younger son escaped with minor injuries.

After receiving the news of the tragic road accident, Pragati’s parents Mohan Reddy and Pavitra Devi immediately left for the United States.

Last April, in a similar tragic car crash, a Telugu family from Telangana had lost a one-year-old infant while the parents Bommidi Anusha and Kommareddy Susheel Reddy and an 11-year-old child sustained critical injuries.

The family was returning from a Craniofacial therapy session for their son, Advaith, when the devastating car crash occurred in Jackson County on March 29, 2024.

Reports from Florida Highway Patrol revealed that the family, residents of Alabama, was traveling northbound on State Road 73 near Cottondale when their vehicle attempted to overtake another car, veering into the southbound lane.
