Telangana’s Dial-112 thwarts missing child case, attempted murder, rape, & molestation in 1 day
Hyderabad: Dial-112 played a crucial role in preventing four major crimes across Telangana in a single day. On June 13, 2025, the emergency response system helped in tracing a missing child, stopping an attempted rape, preventing an attempted murder, and foiling a molestation case.
The Emergency Response Support System (ERSS), known as Dial-112, integrates multiple emergency services under a single number. These include police (100), fire (101), ambulance (108), women’s safety (181), child protection (1098), and disaster management (1077). The system is managed from the Telangana State Integrated Command and Control Centre (TGICCC) in Hyderabad.
On June 13, distress calls were received from different parts of the state. In each case, the Dial-112 team quickly alerted the respective police stations, enabling prompt action by field officers.
A child reported missing from Labour Colony, Kokapet, under the Narsingi police station limits, was traced and safely reunited with his mother, Sunitha Dev. In Amberpet, a man caught recording unauthorized videos of a woman was taken into custody and handed over to local police for further investigation.
In Nalgonda district, a man attempting to attack his father during a domestic dispute was restrained in time and handed over to Kethepally police. Meanwhile, in Sangareddy Town, a rape attempt on a woman by her son-in-law was prevented. The accused was taken into custody and handed over to the local police.
The swift response by Dial-112 operators and the timely action of field officers helped prevent what could have been serious crimes. Telangana Police urged citizens to use the Dial-112 service without hesitation in any emergency, highlighting that a timely call can make a critical difference.
