Appreciates their contribution on various occasion especially during elections

(TGSP) addresses state-wide Law & Order concerns and is deployed for various duties in other states. It has a history of excellent performance during elections and other duties in other states.
Further assured to consider the concerns of TGSP personnel on merits & with sympathy.

Currently, all Police personnel receive surrender leaves and additional surrender leaves, a benefit not extended to other Government departments due to hard duties performed by Police during festivals and holidays. Since TGSP police operate under unique circumstances, this facility has been granted, added DGP.

Moreover, the salaries and allowances for police personnel in the state are the highest compared to other states. The Police Department implements various welfare measures, including Bhadratha and Arogya Bhadratha. In such circumstances, it is not appropriate for TGSP personnel to protest in the streets. TGSP is a uniformed and disciplined force, and the Police department’s image must be protected.

Further, the DGP appealed to TGSP personnel and their families as senior police officers, we are examining grievances on merits, and personnel are urged to carry out their duties as usual.
If there are any concerns, they can be raised in the “Darbar” with the officers/Commandants/ADGP TGSP and other senior officers.

“Indiscipline in uniformed forces is a very serious matter that attracts provisions of the Police Forces (Restrictions of Rights) Act and the Police (Incitement to Disaffection) Act and is liable to be penalised as per law,” said DGP in an official statement.
