Hyderabad police recommission 134 patrol cars with fresh ‘TG’ identity
HYDERABAD: The Government of Telangana has changed the official state identification code from “TS” to “TG” and issued orders to all departments to implement the change.
Following this directive, Hyderabad Police Commissioner C V Anand, Director General and Commissioner of Police, instructed that all police vehicles under the Hyderabad City Police Commissionerate should replace old “TS” stickers with new “Telangana Police” stickers carrying the “TG” code.
Stickers replaced on 188 vehicles
Officials at the City Armed Reserve (CAR) Headquarters said arrangements were made to refurbish 188 government vehicles. The work included removing old stickers, applying new “Telangana Police” stickers, machine polishing, and carrying out denting and painting wherever necessary. The project cost about ₹1.6 crore.
134 patrol vehicles recommissioned
On Sunday, CAR officials completed the stickering of 134 patrol vehicles, which the police commissioner instructed to recommission. “These patrol vehicles are vital for maintaining law and order, crime prevention, rapid emergency response and strengthening city policing,” officials said.
Other vehicles, including those used by Traffic Assistant Commissioners of Police, inspectors, pilots, and interceptors, will also undergo the stickering process in the coming days.
On the occasion, officials issued clear instructions to all drivers to keep the vehicles clean and well-maintained. Officers of the CAR Headquarters participated in the programme.
