Girls outperform boys again in Telangana CBSE results 2025
Hyderabad: Students from Telangana have recorded an impressive 99.83% pass rate in the CBSE Class X examinations, according to a press release issued by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Tuesday, May 13, 2025.
Out of 51,604 students who registered from the state, 51,521 appeared for the exams and 51,433 passed. Girls once again outperformed boys. Of the 22,960 girls who appeared, 99.86% passed, while the pass rate among 28,561 boys was 99.80%. Nationally, 22,21,636 students passed out of 23,71,939 who appeared, marking a national pass rate of 93.66%.
In the CBSE Class XII results also released on Tuesday, Telangana students achieved a 99.73% pass rate. Of the 8,477 students who registered, 8,443 appeared and 8,420 cleared the exams.
Girls led slightly ahead of boys with a pass rate of 99.80%, compared to 99.66% among boys. A total of 4,003 girls and 4,440 boys appeared for the exams. Across India, 17,04,367 students registered for Class XII, of whom 16,92,794 appeared and 14,96,307 passed, resulting in a national pass percentage of 88.39%. This marks a 0.41% increase from the previous year.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated students on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “Heartiest congratulations to everyone who has cleared the CBSE Class XII and X examinations! This is the outcome of your determination, discipline, and hard work.”
He also acknowledged the role of parents and teachers and offered words of encouragement to students disappointed with their results: “One exam can never define you. Your journey is much bigger and your strengths go far beyond the mark sheet.”
