Telangana launches ‘BuildNow’: Revolutionizing building approval process
Hyderabad: A new unified building and layout approval system, “BuildNow,” aims to reduce scrutiny times from days to minutes, was released on Tuesday. Information Technology(IT) Minister D Sridhar Babu boasts that it is a revolutionary step towards modern, citizen-centric governance. The system, scheduled for public launch on February 1, 2025, promises to reduce processing times and streamline permissions.
Under the current TG bPASS system, building scrutiny takes 2 to 30 days. BuildNow will cut this to under 5 minutes. For instance, even for complex multi-tower projects with three towers, each over 40 floors, it took less than two minutes for scrutiny. The system brings improvements in processing times, Application submission reduced from weeks to hours, Non-High-Rise Building approvals shortened from 21 to 15 days, Occupancy certificate issuance accelerated from 15 to 10 days.
“BuildNow” stands out as India’s fastest Drawing Scrutiny system, powered by advanced technologies to reduce processing times from weeks to minutes. It introduces groundbreaking features,a lightning-fast scrutiny engine that processes even complex multi-tower buildings in under 5 minutes, a unified single-window interface that eliminates the need for citizens to visit multiple departments and switch portals, immersive 3D visualization technology allowing themto experience their buildings before construction, AI-powered assistants providing instant, accurate guidance on regulations, blockchain technology ensuring verifiable tracking of every application, and advanced analytics enabling data-driven governance.
Streamlining building approvals with AI and Blockchain
BuildNow represents more than a technological upgrade, it is a complete reimagining of building permissions in the modern era. It will use Augmented Reality(AR)technology for 3D visualization of buildings and layouts unlikeTG bPASS. Building plans are reviewed in static, traditional formats in TG bPASS, leaving room for misinterpretation.
Furthermore, the system uses Public Blockchain technology, ensuring transparent and traceable actions, approvals, and transactions, fostering confidence among citizens. An AI-powered virtual assistant for the assistance to citizens and AI chat support system allows users to receive immediate information on building rules and regulations.
The Government of Telangana aims to set a new standard in digital governance through combining cutting-edge technology with user-centric design, making building approvals faster, more transparent, and more accessible to citizens.
