Hyderabad: A total of 162 individuals have arrived at Telangana Bhawan in New Delhi on May 12, 2025, as part of the Telangana Government's ongoing efforts to support residents and students returning from border areas. Under the leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, the state continues to provide assistance to those seeking refuge.

Resident Commissioner Dr. Gaurav Uppal personally reviewed the arrangements and met with the students. Many shared that their institutions had advised them to return, citing improving conditions in the border regions. However, most preferred to visit their families first and return to campus once the situation fully stabilizes.

In response, Dr. Gaurav Uppal reached out to university officials and requested online classes for now. The institutions agreed. A few final-year students expressed plans to wait a few more days before deciding on their return, to which Dr. Gaurav Uppal assured them of continued support and invited them to stay at the Bhawan as needed.

With conditions improving, distress calls have declined significantly since Sunday evening. A few more arrivals are expected, but the Bhawan remains fully prepared to assist anyone in need.

Free accommodation, meals, health check-ups, and transportation to railway stations and airports are being provided. Coordination with district administrations and central agencies is ongoing to ensure the safe travel of returnees.

Dr. Gaurav Uppal reaffirmed the state’s commitment, “Telangana Bhawan is open to all who need help.”

A 24/7 control room has been set up at Telangana Bhawan.
