Telangana Govt approves extra shows & ticket price hike for "PUSHPA-2" release
Hyderabad: The Telangana government on November 30, 2024, has granted approval for additional screening shows and a hike in cinema ticket prices for the release of PUSHPA-2: The Rule.
An official order issued by the Home Department allows the screening of a benefit show at 9:30 p.m. on December 4, 2024, and two additional shows at 1:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. on December 5, 2024, in all theatres, including single screens and multiplexes, across Telangana.
The ticket prices for the benefit show on December 4 will increase by Rs. 800. As specified in the order, the ticket prices for the extra shows on December 5 will also increase.
The government has approved a structured price increase for the film’s screenings across the state. For single screens, ticket prices will rise by Rs. 150 from December 5 to December 8, 2024. The prices will then increase by Rs. 105 from December 9 to December 16, 2024, and by Rs. 20 from December 17 to December 23, 2024.
For multiplexes and IMAX theatres, the ticket prices will be hiked by Rs. 200 from December 5 to December 8, 2024, followed by Rs. 150 from December 9 to December 16, 2024, and Rs. 50 from December 17 to December 23, 2024. The government also stated that GST would be applicable as per standard regulations.
This decision follows a request from Mythri Movie Distributors LLP, the authorised distributor for PUSHPA-2. Sukumar directed the film, which stars Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna. It is scheduled for release on December 5, 2024.
The government has instructed all Collectors, District Magistrates, Licensing Authorities, and Commissioners of Police to take necessary follow-up actions to facilitate the additional screenings and ticket price hikes.
