Town planning officer in Yellampet held by ACB for ₹3.5 lakh bribe

HYDERABAD:  The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on September 27, 2025 caught Chintala Radha Krishna Reddy, Town Planning Officer of Yellampet Municipality in Medchal Malkajgiri district, while accepting a bribe of ₹3.5 lakh from a complainant.

According to ACB officials, the officer had initially demanded ₹5 lakh to “show official favour” by not demolishing the compound wall and gates of the complainant’s layout. He had already collected ₹1.5 lakh earlier and was caught red-handed when he accepted the balance amount.

Officials said the bribe was sought under the guise of facilitating permissions for other landowners. The bribe amount was recovered at the instance of the accused.

Radha Krishna Reddy was arrested and sent to judicial remand. The case is under investigation.

ACB issues appeal

ACB urged citizens to call the toll-free number 1064 to report demands for bribes by public servants. Complaints can also be made via WhatsApp (9440446106), Facebook (Telangana ACB) or X (formerly Twitter) handle @TelanganaACB. The bureau assured that the identity of complainants will be kept confidential.
