28 new bar licenses available in Telangana; Applications open till June 6
Hyderabad: The Telangana Prohibition and Excise Department has issued a notification inviting applications for 28 (2B) bar licenses across the state. Of these, 24 are located within the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits, and one each in Mahbubnagar, Nizamabad, Bodhan, Saroor Nagar, and Jalpally municipalities.
The application window opens on May 15 and will close on June 6. Each application must be accompanied by a non-refundable Demand Draft of ₹1 lakh, as specified by the department.
Previously, several 2B bar licenses were cancelled due to non-payment of fees or failure to meet operational requirements. Sixteen licenses were revoked, and 12 others lapsed after licensees failed to open their establishments within 90 days. The department is now reallocating these bar licenses.
Interested parties may apply for any number of the available 28 bar licenses. Applications must be submitted to the offices of the Prohibition and Excise Commissioner in Hyderabad, the Deputy Commissioner in Ranga Reddy, or the relevant regional offices.
