Hyderabad: Revenue, Housing, and Information and Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy announced that Rs. 20.19 crore has been directly credited to the bank accounts of 2,019 beneficiaries who completed the basement work of their Indiramma houses. This amount was released under the first phase of a pilot project in which 70,122 houses were sanctioned.

Srinivasa Reddy highlighted the importance of expediting the grounding and construction processes. To date, 13,500 houses have been grounded. He also highlighted that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had ceremonially distributed cheques of Rs. 1 lakh each to 12 beneficiaries.

To prevent middlemen interference, the minister confirmed that funds would be transferred directly to beneficiaries' accounts in four stages, Rs. 1 lakh after the basement work, Rs. 1.25 lakh after the walls are completed, Rs. 1.75 lakh after the slab work, and the final Rs. 1 lakh upon completion of the house.

In an effort to streamline the process, Srinivasa Reddy mentioned that beneficiaries could upload photos of their completed work via a mobile app, allowing funds to be transferred without waiting for official inspections.

Additionally, the minister recommended that houses should be built within a minimum area of 400 square feet, but not exceeding 600 square feet.

To further speed up the beneficiary selection process, a special officer will be appointed for each constituency to ensure coordination between officials and public representatives.
