Teens arrested for stabbing lawyer near IMAX theater
Hyderabad: Two juveniles in conflict with the law were apprehended by the Abids police of Hyderabad commissionerate in connection with the attack on a lawyer during a morning walk with his dog near IMAX theater on Necklace road under Khairatabad police station. The suspects were involved in another robbery case under Abids road police station that occurred early Tuesday.
The suspects, armed with a knife during both incidents, were caught within 12 hours of the crimes. Going further into details, the first incident occurred at 4:30 AM when two individuals entered HLA Apartment premises. When confronted by the watchman, Karan Damaal, one of the suspects threatened him with a large knife before stealing his Redmi mobile phone. The suspects fled on a two-wheeler.
In the second incident at 5:00 AM near IMAX Theatre, the same suspects targeted a man walking his dog. After initially passing the victim, they returned and demanded his phone. When the victim, identified as Kalyan Vamshikar, a lawyer, refused, one of the suspects stabbed him in the ribs and attempted to strike his face. During the struggle, the victim's phone fell to the ground, which the suspects seized before escaping on their bike.
Two juveniles in connected robbery cases arrested within 12 hours
Deputy commissioner of police (DCP) Central Zone Akshansh Yadav and Addl DCP B. Anand formed two teams led by DI K Narasimha of Abid Road PS and DI Ch. Saidulu of Khairatabad PS. The swift investigation led to the arrest of the first juvenile at his Musheerabad residence at 6:00 PM, followed by the second suspect's apprehension in Bandlaguda at 9:00 PM.
Police recovered several items including a two-wheeler without number plates, a large knife, and multiple cell phones including the stolen Samsung Galaxy and Redmi phone.
Both suspects have confessed to their crimes and are being produced before the court. Investigation revealed that one of the juveniles in conflict with the law is involved in a snatching case under Musheerabad police station, Hyderabadcommissionerate. In this case, he was sent to judicial remand and kept at a juvenile home for about 3 months.
The police have registered the cases under sections 309(4) BNS r/w 3(5) BNS and 25(1-8) Arms Act at Abid Road and Khairatabad Police Stations. Further investigation is underway.
