Believing wife died after a slap, Hyderabad techie ends his life
Hyderabad: A software engineer was found dead in his home at Rajendranagar on Sunday, June 15, 2025, following a domestic dispute in which his wife briefly lost consciousness.
According to the information, the couple, Kumaraswamy and Mounika, originally from Nellore in Andhra Pradesh, had been married for a year and were living in Bhavani Colony, Bandlaguda Jagir. According to police, an argument broke out between them over a missing gold bracelet. During the dispute, Kumaraswamy reportedly slapped Mounika, who collapsed and became unresponsive.
Assuming she had died, Kumaraswamy reacted in distress and was later found dead in the house. Mounika later regained consciousness. Neighbours alerted local authorities, and Rajendranagar police shifted the body for postmortem. A case has been registered and is under investigation.
Earlier, a 50-year-old man died days after being injured while attempting to pull his daughter away from an oncoming train at Sanjeevaiah Park railway station on June 8. The daughter died on the spot.
According to Government Railway Police, the woman, identified as Aliya Begum (30), had gone to the station reportedly upset over personal matters. Her father, Mohammed, rushed to the location after being informed of her condition. As she moved toward the tracks, he tried to intervene, but both were struck by a train.
Aliya died immediately. Mohammed sustained critical injuries and was taken to Gandhi Hospital, where he passed away on Thursday during treatment. GRP Secunderabad has registered a case.
In another incident, a 28-year-old woman died after falling from the third floor of her apartment in Vanasthalipuram late Tuesday night. Her two-year-old son, who also fell, survived and is undergoing treatment.
The woman, identified as Sudeshna, lived with her husband Ashish Kumar and their son Arush in Agamaiah Nagar Colony, Chinthalkunta. According to police, Sudeshna had recently lost seven tolas of gold jewellery during a family wedding in Nacharam on May 16. Despite efforts, the jewellery could not be recovered.
Following the loss, she reportedly fell from the building along with her child. Both sustained serious injuries and were taken to a private hospital. Sudeshna died while undergoing treatment, while her son remains under medical care.
