Tension grips Hyderabad as meat found inside Tappachabutra temple
Hyderabad: Tension gripped Tappachabutra locality after locals discovered pieces of meat inside a temple early Wednesday.
As the priest opened the doors of Hanuman temple, he found meat near the Shiva Lingam inside the premises. He immediately alerted the committee members who subsequently called the police to investigate the issue.
The news soon spread in the area and people started thronging to the local temple. Later, local BJP workers and right-wing activists gathered in large numbers. They staged a dharna on the road and demanded a probe into the matter and stringent action against the offenders.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Chandra Mohan, the police have gathered details about the incident and launched an investigation into it.
“We suspect that some animal might have brought the meat inside. CCTV footage is being examined, and further details will be shared,” the police officer said.
Meanwhile, BJP MLA Raja Singh said the desecration of temples have become commonplace in the city. He pointed out that the authorities have blamed the dog or cat in previous such incidents too. He demanded the authorities to find the culprits and take strictest action against them.
