270 litres of toddy found in milk packets at Gundlapochampally hotel
Hyderabad: In an unusual seizure, excise enforcement officers confiscated toddy disguised as milk packets under the brand name "SVS" during a raid at a hotel in Gundlapochampally, Ayodhya Nagar, Medchal.
Based on a tip-off, a team led by CI Subash Chander, along with officers Balaraju, Akhil, and Ravichandra, raided the premises and found 270 liters of toddy stored in milk-like packets. The hotel is operated by a man identified as Shankar Goud.
When questioned about the source of the SVS-branded toddy, Shankar Goud refused to reveal any details. He, along with the seized packets, was handed over to the Medchal Excise Station.
In another case under the Malkajgiri jurisdiction, 20 liters of toddy were seized and later handed over to the Shadnagar Excise Station. Excise officials confirmed that the liquor was being sold without a license.
Meanwhile, in the Saidabad area under Malkajpet Excise Station limits, two individuals, Palle Bikshapati and Bodige Srinivas Goud, were caught selling unauthorized toddy. Acting on specific information, the STF A-Team led by Anji Reddy conducted raids and seized 750 liters of toddy. Samples were collected, and cases were registered against the accused. Authorities continue to investigate the illegal distribution of toddy packaged to resemble milk.
