90kg plastic removed from cow's stomach in Suryapet

HYDERABAD: A veterinary doctor in Kodad, Suryapet district, removed nearly 90kg of plastic waste from a cow’s stomach after a five-hour surgery.

The cow, which was five months pregnant, belonged to a local farmer. It had been unwell for several days after consuming plastic waste. The farmer tried various medicines, but when the condition did not improve, he brought the cow to the regional veterinary hospital in Kodad.

Doctor Pentayya, who led the surgery, said the team carefully removed plastic covers, wires, cloth pieces and other waste material from the cow’s stomach. “We had to operate cautiously because the cow was pregnant. The procedure took five hours,” he said.

Locals congratulated the doctor and hospital staff for successfully saving the cow’s life.
