Supreme Court declines to intervene in Group-1 case

A Bench headed by Justice Surya Kant heard the petition filed by Vemula Anush challenging the Telangana High Court order on the appointments of Group-1 rankers.

The Bench noted that since a Division Bench of the Telangana High Court had already passed an interim order and the matter is listed for hearing on October 15, it would not be appropriate for the apex court to intervene at this stage.

The court also said that the recruitment process should continue in accordance with the High Court’s directions.

Two days ago, the Supreme Court had dismissed a similar plea filed by another petitioner seeking to stay the High Court’s interim order.
