Student booked for harassment of professor at Hyderabad film school
Hyderabad: The Filmnagar police have reportedly booked a case against a former student of the Ramanaidu Film School following a complaint of harassment filed by a female professor.
The accused, identified as Bharath Reddy, a former student in the Direction Department, allegedly engaged in a persistent campaign of harassment against the young faculty member.
According to the complaint, the professor first reported the student's inappropriate behaviour to the school's principal. Following an internal review, the institution took stern action by removing Bharath Reddy from the school.
However, the harassment did not cease. The professor alleged that the student subsequently continued to target her through Instagram, leading her to seek legal recourse.
Unable to bear the continued harassment, the victim approached the Filmnagar police station of Hyderabad commissionerate and filed a formal complaint, seeking action against the former student. Acting on her complaint, the police have registered a case against Bharath Reddy. Further investigation is underway.
