IPL 2025 Retention: SRH’s Heinrich Klaasen becomes most expensive retained player
Sunrisers Hyderabad have announced that they have retained – Heinrich Klaasen, Pat Cummins, Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head and Nitish Kumar Reddy ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction.
The rentions include three overseas players and two Indian young cricketers who have displayed all-round performance in the team’s show in 2024.
These five cricketers have been retained by SRH at a value of:
-Heinrich Klaasen – 23 crore
-Pat Cummins – 18 crore
-Abhishek Sharma – 14 crore
-Travis Head – 14 crore
-Nitish Kumar Reddy – 6 crore
Sunrisers Hyderabad's Heinrich Klaasen has become the most expensive retained player in the history of IPL. Previously, Virat Kohli was the highest-ever retained player. He has been retained at a value of 21 crores.
Klaasen has been a major contributor in SRH’s journey to the finals in the 2024 season. He scored 479 runs in 16 matches with a strike rate of 171.07. 33-year-old South African wicketkeeper-batter joined the Orange Army during the IPL auction in 2023.
