Three dead, one injured as Skoda collides head-on with DCM in Hayathnagar
Hyderabad: Three young men were killed and one seriously injured in a head-on collision between a Skoda car and a DCM vehicle in the early hours of Wednesday, May 21, 2025, near Narayana College, Kuntloor village, within the limits of Hayathnagar Police Station. The incident occurred around 5:45 a.m. on a curve opposite the AEGIS LPG bunk. According to police, the Skoda car was traveling from Pasumamula toward Kuntloor, while the DCM vehicle was coming from the opposite direction. Both vehicles collided at high speed, resulting in a fatal crash.
The deceased have been identified as Pinninti Chandra Sena Reddy (24), Chunchu Thrinadh Reddy (24), and Chunchu Varshith Reddy (23), all students and residents of Kuntloor. Their bodies were shifted to the Osmania Hospital Mortuary. Another occupant of the Skoda, Alimeti Pawan Kalyan Reddy (24), also a resident of Kuntloor, sustained serious injuries and was admitted to Sunrise Hospital in Hayathnagar for treatment. Police have registered a case and are investigating the circumstances of the accident.
In a separate incident on May 8, 2025, a man was killed and another injured on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) near Himayat Sagar. Shiva Keshav, a recovery van driver, died instantly when a speeding Toyota car crashed into a broken-down vehicle and the van as he was changing a tyre.
The crash occurred near Exit 17 while the car, en route from Hyderabad to Shamshabad, awaited roadside assistance. Another person at the scene was seriously injured and taken to a nearby hospital. Overspeeding is believed to be the cause, and the Rajendranagar police are investigating.
Earlier on May 2, 2025, a 30-year-old man, D. Thirumalesh, died after losing control of his car on the ORR near Adibatla. The vehicle, reportedly moving at high speed, crashed into a median and overturned multiple times. The accident occurred between 4:30 a.m. and 5:00 a.m., and police suspect the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel.
On April 7, 2025, a traffic home guard was killed and two constables injured when a speeding lorry crashed into a traffic booth near the Miyapur Metro Station. The accident took place around 11:00 p.m. near pillar number 600, where the officers were managing traffic at a no-entry zone. The lorry, which had just unloaded rice bags in Bharat Nagar, struck the booth, causing it to collapse. Home Guard Simhachalam later died in a private hospital. Constables Rajavardhan and Vijender sustained injuries. The lorry driver, identified as Srinivas from Sadashivapet.
