The company said it has been coordinating emergency response efforts, supporting families of the victims, and cooperating fully with the investigation. The company announced an ex-gratia compensation of ₹1 crore to the families of each deceased worker. It has also committed to providing full medical and rehabilitation support to the injured.

The company denied reports suggesting that the accident was caused by a reactor explosion. “As we await the results of the investigation, we would like to clarify that the accident was not caused by a reactor explosion, as reported in some sections of the media,” the statement read. Operations at the plant have been suspended for 90 days.

Meanwhile, Sangareddy police have registered a case against Sigachi Industries under Sections 105, 110, and 117 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which relate to grievous hurt and culpable homicide not amounting to murder. The company is owned by Amit Raj Sinha.

On July 1, 2025, Sangareddy Superintendent of Police Paritosh Pankaj confirmed that 36 deaths had been officially recorded so far, with more than 35 others injured. Of the 143 workers present at the time, 58 have been identified. Witnesses said the explosion was so intense that some workers were thrown nearly 100 metres. The fire quickly spread, trapping many workers inside. Firefighters responded swiftly.

The Telangana Human Rights Commission has taken suo motu cognizance of the incident, citing possible safety lapses and labour rights violations. Notices have been sent to the District Collector, Commissioner of Labour, Director General of Fire Services, and Superintendent of Police, seeking reports by July 30.

On July 1, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy visited the site with Ministers D. Sridhar Babu and Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy. He reviewed the rescue operations and met with senior officials. The Chief Minister announced a ₹1 crore compensation for each deceased worker’s family, ₹1 lakh as interim relief, and ₹50,000 for the injured. Critically injured workers will receive ₹10 lakh, and those with partial injuries will receive ₹5 lakh. The state will cover the full cost of medical treatment for all injured workers.

The Chief Minister also directed that children from affected families be enrolled in government residential schools and provided with full educational support. Calling it one of the most serious industrial accidents in the state, he ordered inspections of all chemical industries across Telangana to assess safety compliance. A special officer will be appointed to oversee relief efforts, and a detailed report will be prepared with inputs from safety experts.
