Brutal matricide: Girl, boyfriend slay mother
Hyderabad: A tenth-grade student, with help from her boyfriend, killed her mother under the Jeedimetla police station in Cyberabad commissionerate limits. The deceased reportedly belongs to the Chakali Ailamma family and was active in social movements.
The deceased was identified as Anjali (40), who was the great-granddaughter of the renowned Telangana revolutionary Chakali Ailamma.
The accused, Anjali’s daughter, had been in a relationship with Shiva, a young man from Nalgonda, for the past eight months.
According to the Jeedimetla police, Anjali’s daughter eloped with Shiva, following which Anjali lodged a complaint with the police. Anjali had firmly opposed the relationship and even reprimanded her daughter. The girl met Shiva on Instagram. They developed a relationship, eloped a week ago, and returned home three days before the murder.
"The accused daughter and Shiva allegedly planned the murder. Shiva came from Nalgonda yesterday evening. While Anjali was doing puja at home, they attacked her from behind and covered her face with a bedsheet and struck her head with a hammer,” said the police.
Jeedimetla police booked a case and further investigation is underway.
