Father, daughter killed in road accident at Shadnagar
Hyderabad: A tragic road accident at Shadnagar crossroads in Ranga Reddy district claimed the lives of a father and daughter early Saturday morning, July 26, 2025.
The victims, Machhender and his daughter Mythri, were traveling on a motorcycle when a tanker lorry, allegedly driven recklessly, collided with them. The impact was fatal.
According to Shadnagar Circle Inspector Vijay Kumar, the accident occurred while Machhender was taking Mythri to the bus station. She was headed to Vardhaman College in Shamshabad.
Eyewitnesses said that moments after the accident, a severely injured Mythri handed her phone to a bystander, identified as Tayyab, and asked him to call her family. The emotional scene left many at the spot visibly shaken. Tayyab used her phone to inform her family and friends.
The lorry driver has been taken into custody by Shadnagar police. An investigation is underway. The bodies were shifted to the government hospital for post-mortem examination.
In a separate incident on the same morning, two Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) from Andhra Pradesh died in a road accident near Kaithapuram village in Choutuppal mandal, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district.
The officers were travelling from Vijayawada to Hyderabad in a Scorpio SUV when the vehicle lost control after a lorry in front braked suddenly. The SUV hit a road divider, veered into the opposite lane, and collided head-on with an oncoming lorry.
The deceased were identified as Intelligence DSP Chakradhar Rao and DSP Shantharao. Additional SP Prasad and the driver, Nursing Rao, sustained serious injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital. Further investigation is underway.
Earlier, three people were killed and one critically injured in a road accident on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) near Pillar No. 108, close to the Bonguluru Exit, in the early hours of Friday, July 18, 2025.
The crash occurred around 3:26 AM when a red Maruti Baleno (registration number TS07HW5858), traveling from Pedda Amberpet towards Bonguluru, rammed into the rear of a lorry. The impact caused severe damage to the car.
According to police, three of the four occupants died at the scene. The fourth was critically injured and was shifted to Niladri Hospital in BN Reddy Nagar for treatment. The deceased were reportedly trapped inside the mangled vehicle, and efforts were underway to retrieve the bodies.
The lorry involved fled the scene. Police have launched a search to trace the vehicle and its driver. Personnel from the Adibatla Police Station, including the Station House Officer, NDRO team, and ACP Ibrahimpatnam, responded to the scene. An investigation is ongoing.
