Melissa Nandula, Programming Coordinator at American Spaces, explained the significance of Agentic AI in shaping the future of work, global collaboration, and innovation. She spoke about the role of U.S.-India initiatives like the TRUST partnership in advancing responsible technology development, and described the workshop as an important platform for young people to engage with AI meaningfully.

Participants received mentorship from industry professionals including Vamshi, a consultant with an MBA from IIM Ranchi; Vyluru Perumal, also a consultant in the field; and Sai Krishna and HimaSri, co-founders of Centle and alumni of IIEST Kolkata and NIT Surathkal respectively. Over the course of two days, attendees built intelligent agents using no-code platforms. These included systems for automating email responses, customizing job applications, summarizing daily news, and supporting academic or market research. The sessions demonstrated how accessible tools can enable students and professionals to develop solutions for real-world problems.

A panel discussion titled “AI in Command: Ethics, Autonomy, and Accountability” brought together voices from academia, journalism, and industry. Padmashree, Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at St. Francis College, joined Rakesh Dubbudu, founder and CEO of Factly, and management consultant Vamshi Guguloth. The panel explored issues of responsibility, oversight, and trust in the age of autonomous systems, particularly in sensitive areas such as healthcare, governance, and security. The discussion prompted thoughtful questions from the audience and emphasized the need for ethical guidelines in AI development.

The workshop concluded with a valedictory address by Veena Thangavelu, Political-Economic Officer, who commended the active engagement of the participants. She spoke about the growing momentum of innovation-focused programs at the American Corner and encouraged students to lead with purpose as they explore careers in emerging technologies. A total of 175 students and professionals from various colleges across Hyderabad took part in the workshop.
