Satya Nadella tops inaugural HSBC Hurun Global Indians List 2024
Hyderabad: The inaugural HSBC Hurun Global Indians List 2024 has recognized the most influential global leaders of Indian origin. Microsoft Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella leads the rankings. Following Satya Nadella are Sundar Pichai, CEO of Alphabet, and Neal Mohan, CEO of YouTube, who occupy the second and third positions, respectively.
Notably, the list also highlights the achievements of three prominent leaders from the Telugu states, Satya Nadella, Shantanu Narayen, and Arvind Krishna, pointing out their growing impact on the global stage.
Satya Nadella, hailing from Hyderabad, takes the top spot due to his transformative leadership at Microsoft. Under his guidance, the tech giant has focused on cutting-edge innovations in artificial intelligence and digital transformation while cultivating a collaborative and inclusive corporate culture. Nadellaโs influence has made him a key figure in shaping the future of technology.
Shantanu Narayen, who originated from Telangana, ranks fifth and has been pivotal in Adobe's success. As Chairman and CEO, he has led the companyโs evolution into a global leader in digital media and marketing, employing over 30,000 people. His visionary leadership has positioned Adobe at the forefront of creative software and digital transformation.
Arvind Krishna, hailing from West Godavari, Andhra Pradesh, ranks eighth on the list. As Chairman and CEO of IBM, he has led a strategic overhaul, emphasizing hybrid cloud computing and artificial intelligence for future growth. His leadership has enabled IBM to adapt to the fast-paced technology landscape.
The list, compiled by Hurun India based on a survey of 400 respondents, highlights the influence of Indian-origin leaders across various industries. The companies led by these leaders have a combined value of $10 trillion, showing their massive role in shaping the global business environment.
Among the top ten leaders, Sundar Pichai, who leads Alphabet, ranks second, while Neal Mohan, who leads YouTube, is third. Other notable figures include Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud; Vasant Narasimhan, CEO of Novartis; and Sanjiv Lamba, CEO of Linde. The list's geographical representation reveals a strong presence of Indian-origin leaders in global business hubs, with San Francisco leading the list with the highest number of entrants, followed by London and Dubai.
