Sangareddy Rural SI suspended for demanding money during probe
HYDERABAD: Sangareddy Rural Sub-Inspector Ravinder has been suspended after allegations that he demanded money from a person during an investigation. The action was taken by the district Superintendent of Police (SP) following a preliminary inquiry.
Accused allegedly harassed lodge manager
A man had died under suspicious circumstances at a lodge within the limits of the Sangareddy Rural police station. During the investigation, police allegedly demanded money from the lodge manager, identified as Alle Lokesh corrected spelling: Alley Lokesh, 40, of Indiranagar, Jogipet town. Lokesh reportedly faced severe harassment from police, which drove him to jump into a river. His wife later filed a complaint with the SP.
A Deputy Superintendent of Police conducted a preliminary inquiry and submitted a report recommending disciplinary action against the Sub-Inspector.
SP warns against misconduct
Following directions from the Multi-Zone-II Inspector General of Police, Ravinder was placed under suspension. In a statement, SP Paritosh said, “Negligence of duty and corruption will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Departmental action will be taken irrespective of rank.”
