Sangareddy MBBS student found dead on her birthday in Philippines
Patancheru: A second-year MBBS student from Sangareddy district, Telangana, was found dead on her birthday under suspicious circumstances in her room at the University of Perpetual Help System in Manila, Philippines, in the early hours of Friday, November 15, 2024.
The deceased has been identified as Snigdha, the daughter of Chintha Amrutha Rao, a Transco DE employee from Medak, and a resident of Patancheru mandal in Sangareddy district, Telangana. Snigdha had moved to the Philippines two years ago to pursue her medical studies and was currently in her second year of the MBBS programme.
According to reports, Snigdha’s friends went to her room to wish her on her birthday but discovered her lifeless body around 3 a.m. on Friday. The cause of death is yet to be determined, and authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Chintha Amrutha Rao has requested the Indian Embassy in the Philippines to assist in bringing Snigdha’s body back to India for final rites.
