Vanga: Baahubali 2 interval made me doubt Arjun Reddy
HYDERABAD: Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga revealed that watching the interval scene of Baahubali 2 left him worried about how audiences would receive Arjun Reddy. He shared the experience during the talk show Jayammu Nischayammu Raa, hosted by actor Jagapathi Babu and streaming on Zee5.
Speaking in the latest episode alongside Ram Gopal Varma, Vanga said, “Among all the films I have seen, the interval sequence of Baahubali 2 is the biggest highlight. No other interval scene has matched it. After watching it, I went back to my studio to see the interval of Arjun Reddy and felt a minute of fear, whether audiences would like it or not. Rajamouli proved that even the interval must be extraordinary. Once the Arjun Reddy trailer was released, I saw the response and gained confidence.”
On his association with Ram Gopal Varma, Vanga said, “He has been a inspiration to me in many ways. I learnt a lot from watching his films. I must have seen Satya 50 or 60 times. That film taught me editing.”
Sharing an update on his upcoming film Spirit with Prabhas, he said, “If background music is readied before shooting, it saves a lot of time. I realised this only after Arjun Reddy. Before filming Animal, we completed 80% of the music work. For Spirit, 70% of the background score is already ready. Prabhas is a sweet person. Though I wondered how it would be to work with such a big star, I found there will be no hurdles. Shooting will begin soon, after which I will share full details.”
