BCCI appoints Rajya Sabha MP Sana Sathish Babu to infrastructure panel
HYDERABAD: Rajya Sabha member Sana Sathish Babu from Andhra Pradesh has been appointed to the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) Infrastructure and Facilities Committee. The decision was taken at the cricket board’s 94th Annual General Meeting held on September 28.
Panel oversees stadiums, training centres and cricket facilities
The committee is responsible for planning, developing and monitoring cricket infrastructure across the country. Its work includes building and modernising stadiums, setting up training centres, ensuring ground quality, allocating funds, overseeing projects and meeting international standards.
Local sports enthusiasts in Andhra Pradesh welcomed the appointment, describing it as a matter of pride for the state. They expressed confidence that the move would help develop new stadiums, upgrade existing venues and establish advanced training facilities.
Political leaders in the state also linked the development to ongoing efforts to promote sports. They said the appointment could improve Andhra Pradesh’s chances of hosting international matches in future.
