Sai Pallavi faces trolling over swimsuit photos with sister

HYDERABAD: Actor Sai Pallavi, known for her simple and traditional dressing style, faced trolling on social media after photos of her in a swimsuit with her sister Pooja Kannan went viral.

Pallavi, usually seen in saris, kurtas and anarkalis, is known to turn down glamorous roles even when offered high remuneration. The photos of her in swimwear, however, triggered criticism online, with many accusing her of presenting a “false image” in films while choosing “bold looks” off-screen.

Trolls allege Bollywood angle

Some users alleged that she opted for the look to gain more opportunities in Bollywood. “She is no different from other heroines,” a few said, adding they did not expect such photos from her.

Fans defend, cite AI morphing

Her fans, however, hit back at trolls. They said Pallavi had only worn a swimsuit, not a bikini, and that artificial intelligence tools were used to morph the pictures and circulate them. According to them, the original images were casual clicks with her sister, but the altered versions were made to appear sensational.

Fans also asked why she was being singled out. “Who wears a sari to swim in the sea? Even our family members wear swimsuits to swim,” one user said. They reminded critics that clothing choices were her personal decision and questioned the right of others to dictate them.
