"Sri Mad Bhagavatam Part-1" set to bring iconic epic to big screen: Telangana CM Revanth Reddy
Hyderabad: The much-awaited film project Sri Mad Bhagavatam Part-1 was officially launched at Ramoji Film City, with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy gracing the event as the chief guest. The ceremony was attended by several notable figures, including Legislative Council Chairman Gutta Sukhender Reddy, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly K. Prasad Kumar, Minister Komatireddy Venkata Reddy, Chief Minister's Advisor V. Narendra Reddy, and MLA Rangareddy, among others.
The film, produced by Akash Sagar Chopra under the banner of Sagar Pictures Entertainment, marks a significant step in bringing the revered epic to the silver screen.
In his address, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy praised Ramoji Film City as a unique and world-class facility that continues to be a point of pride for the people of Telangana. He also expressed his congratulations to the film team for their decision to bring Sri Mad Bhagavatam to life, acknowledging the importance of such an ambitious project.
The Chief Minister reminisced about the impact of the Ramayan serial, which brought the ancient epic closer to the masses over forty years ago. He also recalled how the re-broadcast of the serial during the COVID-19 pandemic set a world record in viewership.
Looking forward, Revanth Reddy highlighted the state's economic ambitions, noting that Telangana aims to become a $1 trillion economy by 2035, with a long-term plan to grow this to $3 trillion by 2047. He revealed that the government is preparing a 2047 Vision Document, which will include a dedicated chapter on the film industry, further strengthening Telangana’s position in the entertainment sector.
Concluding his speech, the Chief Minister expressed hope that Sri Mad Bhagavatam Part-1 would achieve the same level of success as Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan serial, which became a cultural phenomenon. He wished the film team the best of luck with their project.
After the event, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy left Ramoji Film City and traveled to Thungathurthi in the Suryapet district. There, he is scheduled to inaugurate the distribution of ration cards in the Tirumalagiri area of the Thungathurthi constituency.
